On this day, September 30th, in 1957: Gibby Haynes was born in Dallas, TX.
Today’s soundtrack: The Butthole Surfers, baby.
Today’s screening: “Blind Eye Sees All,” “Dead Man,” and GWAR’s “Phallus in Wonderland.”
Today’s quote: “We were like Fred Astaire’s Asshole and The Right To Eat Fred Astaire’s Asshole. And the next time we played we were The Unalienable Right To Eat Fred Astaire’s Asshole. We picked on stars for awhile. We were Ed Asner Is Gay for awhile. Ashtray Babyheads…” - Gibby on band names before the Butthole Surfers

Unused ALIEN Posters By Bill Gold

Legendary graphic designer Bill Gold was hired to design teaser posters for Ridley Scott’s iconic horror film. Ultimately, were never used.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gold described his process. ”We wanted to play with the word ‘Alien.’ We did a bunch of designs that suggested some sort of mysterious outer-space look. I didn’t want it to be totally a spaceman in costume but I wanted to suggest that.
